Ruth M. Dumond, nee Herold, beloved wife of the late Thomas Dumond. Loving mother of Alan (Jie), Susan, the late Marilyn (Dean) Valavanis. Cherished grandmother, affectionately known as “Second Mom” of Alia (Michael) O’Connell, and great grandmother of Joseph and Siobhán O’Connell. Dear aunt of Judith (Ken) Wille and Robert (Diane) Felix. Preceded in death by her parents Phyllis and Arthur Herold, and her sister Dorothy Paplaczak.
Ruth was a lifelong educator teaching elementary school in Germany, Chicago Public Schools, and the Archdiocese of Chicago. She was a graduate of DePauw University and the National College of Education in Evanston.
Visitation Friday 9:00 A.M. until funeral services 11:00 A.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
